I was asked by my local authority if I would like to take part in an assessment of another local authority's temporary accommodation. I had been involved in a service user panel when I was in temporary accommodation myself.
I was given a short training about what to do and what to expect.
There were another three people in the team. It was a bit nerve wracking at times but overall I enjoyed it - I felt that the team listened to my views when we were discussing the final report. And, I learnt a lot about how services are delivered.
I told my job officer that I had done it and they said to me to put it on my CV. It helped me get a place at college.
