Nomi’s Story
Nomi was able to rent a small flat with a private landlord.
Arya had told her about the council service which supports people finding a private tenancy.
She had completed a form to get a rent deposit bond which meant she didn’t have to find a lot of money to move in.
She was also able to claim in work benefits she hadn’t known about.
Nomi was given a Private Residential Tenancy. This offers greater security for tenants meeting their responsibilities. If the landlord wants to end the tenancy they need to have a good reason.
