Making my tenancy work for me - An E-Learning module and step by step guide

THE HUB
Allocations

This is the process landlords use to offer and provide people with a house. Allocations systems are generally points based which means that people with the most needs have the highest number of points. Points are given to applicants for different reasons e.g. if they have a medical condition, if they are homeless or living in crowded conditions etc.
Landlords will always try and offer people a property that meets their needs e.g. in a suitable location and is close to services and existing networks and support if needed.

Common Housing Register (CHR)

A common housing register is operated when several landlords in an area offer prospective tenants a single point for making a housing application.

It means: you can generally apply for a LA or HA property through any landlord that is part of the CHR.

CHR application forms may be available on-line as well as from offices/public buildings.
